I’ve always loved hockey. I played for years and wanted a way to stay connected to the game. So, in the early 2000s, I set up an online store selling field hockey equipment.

It was just me at the time. A small ecommerce business, built around something I cared about.

As the store grew rapidly, I started looking for other products to sell alongside the equipment. That’s when I came across supplemental oxygen. At the time, it was mostly used in niche sports or at high altitudes. But I thought it could be useful for hockey players – something to aid recovery and help performance between bursts of play.

So I added it to the website as a bit of an experiment.

To my surprise, it quickly became our best-selling product.

Others were using it to feel calmer or more energised during busy days. Skincare enthusiasts were reporting improvements to their skin, using it to support collagen production and fight dullness.

That’s when I realised the potential was much bigger than sport alone.

ClearO2 was born out of that discovery. A product that started on the pitch was now helping people feel better in everyday life.

At first, we were sourcing oxygen canisters from overseas manufacturers. But over time, the quality became a problem. We faced high fault rates, production delays, and technical issues we couldn’t control.

Eventually, I reached a point where I had to make a decision – either accept substandard supply or take it into my own hands.

So in 2018, I made the leap. I set up our own manufacturing facility in the UK, based in Shropshire.
