33,600 Oxygen masks and tubes have been donated by Bridgnorth business, ClearO2, to help rebuild hospitals in Ukraine. The donation is the latest example of British businesses digging deep to do what they can to support the worsening tragedy in Ukraine.

Russia’s attacks aren’t restricted to just military targets. Most recently, on March 9, air strikes took out a children’s hospital and a maternity ward in Mariupol. Just a few days before, on March 3, a maternity hospital was taken out in Zhytomyr. The WHO has also confirmed multiple other attacks on healthcare facilities in the country.

Speaking about the effort, ClearO2 CEO Bruno Mustone explains that he and his team are willing to do any little thing that can help.

“I’m sure we’ve all been watching the tragedy in Ukraine unfold on the news and feeling helpless. So when I came across a post on a local Facebook group organising items to be shipped to Ukraine, I noticed they were desperate for oxygen masks. Immediately, I realised we’d got an opportunity to help,” he says.

“We then started looking for the quickest way to get the oxygen masks out there and through contacts I came across the Central Bedfordshire Ukraine Appeal. Kasha and Emily were straight on it and had already been shipping items to Ukrainian hospitals, so I teamed up with them and within a couple of days, the items were collected and on their way to help out,” Mustone explains.

The Central Bedfordshire Ukraine Appeal is currently working to collect all manners of goods and items that are needed by Ukrainians. The initiative may be small, but it has already amassed a good amount of support from people who are looking to help.

Talking about their initiative, they said: “”I think what it also shows is that what people can do, the power of the community, it’s just been absolutely amazing.

“Another thing is that people are able to help for free, everything has been donated; time, transport, knowledge, even people that were not able to do things physically, they have ideas. And that’s a value that you can’t put money on.”

According to the Global Conflict Tracker, over 2.3 million people have fled Ukraine since February 24, 2022. Meanwhile, UN estimates show that 516 civilians have lost their lives, while another 908 have been injured in the fighting. This is a critical time to extend support to Ukraine and her people.

ClearO2 has a mission to promote good health and, over the years, has been in the business of supplying high-quality recreational oxygen. The UK company hopes that this small gesture will help the people of Ukraine.
